Discover How PayPal CEO Dan Shulman Uses Martial Arts To Combat Financial Exclusion

Success! How I Did It is a podcast from Business Insider that offers revealing conversations with today’s most inspiring business, sports, entertainment, and government leaders. In August, host Alyson Shontell sat down with PayPal CEO Dan Shulman to discuss how he went from a $14,000 salary to running 3 public companies.

PayPal acquired Venmo in a deal with Braintree in 2013 for the tune of $800 million. This past week, PayPal announced that Venmo customers can begin using their digital wallets to make purchases on their mobile phones at more than two million US retailers. By leveraging the unrivaled scale of the PayPal merchant network, Venmo will now make it easier for customers to checkout at their favorite stores, which include Lululemon, Forever 21, and Foot Locker.

With this step, Venmo is fulfilling its mission to connect the world and empower people through payments. Not only is Venmo the go-to app for payments between friends, it is now one step closer to becoming synonymous with the digital wallet that helps consumers spend wherever and however they want to pay.
